Higher
The temple of the Meiji kamidana is elevated, as a symbol of reverence, and for a bit more space for offerings to the Kami. The small Shōji doors are made, just like regular sized ones, with wooden lattice and rice paper.
Traditional Joinery
All our kamidana are designed to be assembled without the need for fasteners, through the clever use of traditional wood joinery and precise woodworking, so you can enjoy putting it together yourself. Watch the Video below for a quick overview, or go to the dedicated Assembly Instructions Page.
