Keep in it whatever you like.
The traditional Tomobako is a wooden box that was used to keep fine ceramic pieces. More than just for transportations it had, written on the outside, the size and description of the object that it was made for, which made it a kind of proof of authenticity. It was usually kept closed with knotted ribbon (Kumihimo) tied on top of the lid. Our design is different, but it is inspired by this tradition of caring for the quality achieved by masterful craftsmanship.
We're not really fond of shipping air, so you'll get it in a nice flat package. You'll enjoy the simpleness of its design when setting it up. Not hard, just fun ;-)
Oak wood is hardwearing and makes for a very durable design. The waxed finish lets you enjoy the natural touch of the wooden surface while it still protects it against staining and keeps dust from grabbing.
This product is not available right now because we are currently redesigning the TOMOBAKO family.
The new designs will be available in time for Christmas, so check back the first of December, or subscribe to our newsletter (at the bottom of the page) so we can let you know by email.
